This is just a shout-out to my agent Kiki Pollard, who has created a new blog that's collecting some interesting stories and perspectives from among the illustrators she represents - and I'm glad to count myself among them.
She calls it The Pimento Files and you can visit to find out what's behind the name. I contributed my own story about the confluence of jazz music in my work as an illustrator and as a musician. And you'll also find another story by a fellow artist I really admire, Judy Reed Silver. Here's a sampling of her beautiful, colorful work for Sherwin-Williams.
In her most recent post, Judy talks about her love of color and how she keeps up with color trends and how she researches color and trends for her projects. There's a lot more - too much to go into in this short post, but I'm enjoying reading the back stories about lives and work of the other illustrators that are a part of the Alexander Pollard group. We are scattered all over the place, from Atlanta to LA and we work in diverse illustration styles and mediums. You can visit the group website at www.alexanderpollard.com.
