I am a sucker for 1950's creature-features and campy sci-fi B-movies. The posters are often more promising than the final product, but I watch until the end nevertheless. Netflix has a few classics that you can stream like Them!, Attack of the Puppet People, and The Monster that Challenged the World. (Featuring a fantastically ridiculous giant underwater caterpillar.)
I recently watched The Wasp Woman by Roger Corman and it got me thinking about how I might find an evil-genius chemist to extract some essence of multi-armedness from an octopus - so I could work a little faster. It all sounds good, but these movies have taught me not to tinker with mother nature. Or radioactivity. Or spray paint and foam rubber.
One of my projects of the moment is converting my Step by Step Illustrator class to a new and improved self-paced class, Beginning Illustrator. This creature is taking over my studio. I couldn't help myself, it started out small and then suddenly I decided to make it bigger and better and now I want to drink some octopus arm extract.

I think being a bit of a computer geek myself requires us to like a little sci-fi goodness now and then. It's part of the personality profile, right? ;) I never thought I would say I'm bummed that I took your first Step-by-Step course as it has started me on the road of Illustrator designing, but now I am just a little bit seeing the new and improved version. Your new class looks like fun!

Hey Shayla, thanks for your comment (good point) and thanks for being an early-adopter of my first Illustrator class!! We will figure out a way to make it available to past students as an "update". So there will be more info on that later. I am so glad my class helped you get on the road with Illustrator!
